Portfolio

I am privileged to work with some very gifted and talented people. It is their gifts that inspire and fuel the designs we create together.  Here are some of my latest projects.

Beth Anne Rankin

Beth Anne Rankin for CongressBeth Anne is a Congressional candidate for the 4th Congressional District in Arkansas, and it has truly been a pleasure working with her and her campaign staff to create and maintain her campaign website.  Beth Anne and those working with her are high integrity people so working with them is a pleasure.

This is a WordPress powered site with a customized WordPress theme which makes it attractive, highly functional for a campaign site, and economically efficient thanks to WordPress.

All of my clients become friends during the work process, and I remain interested and committed to their success and growth long after the project is complete.  So I’m wishing Beth Anne much success in her campaign and will be watching the election returns in November with much hope for a victory.

Shorashim of the Old City

Shorashim of the Old CityThis is the 4th site I’ve created for Shorashim of the Old City.  They were actually my very first client, and their trust in my abilities even when I was just starting out was an inspiration to continue to learn and develop my own skills.  So thank you Moshe and Dov for trusting me with that first site.

This site is built on the Frugal WordPress framework, and I created a custom skin for the layout. The site is both a blog and an e-commerce site.  We actually spent months searching for the best e-commerce solution and I believe finally found it.  It”s called ECWID:E-Commerce Widgets and it’s an awesome e-commerce plugin for just about any type of site. They offer a free version for up to 100 products and paid subscriptions starting at $17 per month.  The paid version does come with more features, but the support is the same for both free and commercial.  And the support is the best I’ve ever seen.  I had several questions during setup — mostly related to design as the shopping cart literally only takes minutes to set up — and the question were answered within a few hours every time.

The end result: a well designed site based on WordPress + Frugal  and an easy to shop online store.

Carman Communication

Krista wanted to create an online business card but with an elegant and sophisticated design. A business card layout created a unique set of challenges, as you didn’t have the standard design elements on the page — no navigation or actual content.   So we used background graphics and ample space around the design  elements to create a visually appealing design.

Although the only content is Krista’s contact information, the design conveys her professionalism and her engaging personality.

EFT with Deborah

Deborah Donndelinger is a very gifted EFT practitioner. She brings a wealth of knowledge and several  healing modalities into her work, and therefore offers a lot of resources on her website.

She created her first site with an online service that offered ready made templates and did a great job with the resources she had available.

But her site content quickly outgrew the limited options she had for organizing her site. She needed an expanded menu system to make her site more accessible, and she wanted a custom design to reflect her work and energy.

We worked together to create a layout that is both functional and beautiful.  We used Joomla as the engine of her site, as she needed a robust Content Management System (CMS) to manage and organize her site content.  This gives her the ability to manage almost all aspects of her site, and Joomla plugins ensure that needed additional functionality in the future is available. This means her site and the engine behind the site can grow as her practice grows.

Healing Pathways

David Seltzer has been in alternative healing for over twenty years, and has created a very effective healing modality that he calls Healing Pathways. He not only heals; he also teaches and writes, and so he has a lot of valuable written material.  But the material was  only available to those who attended his classes – that is – until we designed a site for him and created a venue for him to share his healing method on the internet.

He’s also a very colorful and creative soul, and the design definitely reflects that.  The really cool branding image you see with the little wooden signpost and the country roads surrounded with flowers was his idea!

We used WordPress as his content management system, as David’s goal is to share much of his teachings and material in his weekly blog posts.  A custom design to match a custom, one of kind alternative healer.

Heliotrope Holistic Health Clinic

Dr. Shoshana Savyon was too busy healing folks to invest in getting a website.  But she finally saw the value in getting online and being able to share her knowledge with a much wider audience.

Since Shoshana wanted to add regular posts and articles to the site, we decided to use WordPress as the engine of her site.

I created a custom theme that reflects the heart and energy of Heliotrope Holistic Health Services and taught Shoshana how to add all her wonderful and inspiring material.

With only a few hours of instruction and some educational screencasts, she’s now a happy blogger and is continuing to learn her way around WordPress.

Praxis, EFT with Lynne Shaner

A small site designed for Lynne Shaner, an EFT practitioner in Washington, DC, who specializes in stress/anxiety, PTSD, corporate/personal success, and pain management. Clean, elegant, minimalist design with very light content management system.

Lynne, as many of my clients, started off with a DIY (do it yourself) solution but quickly realized that she was unable to create the professional, clean, and elegant design that she desired.

We worked together to create an elegant design that is both functional and beautiful.  Site also has a simple, lightweight Content Management System (CMS), so that Lynne can maintain the site content.

Site Update: After several months, Lynne decided she wanted a more robust content management system and to add a blog to her site.  I converted the existing static XHTML site into a WordPress theme and transferred all existing content into WordPress.  Exact site design but now powered by WordPress.

TLC Bookkeeping

A brochure site for a small bookkeeping service in Texas. Dolly offers bookkeeping services to local farmers, ranchers, and small businesses, and needed a way to share about her services when she met people and prospective clients.

What better way to convey TLC than by a heart!  This design was easy to create for Dolly, as she really loves both her work and her clients.

I installed a very lightweight content management system – that took all of about 30 minutes to explain – so she can easily update the site when needed.

Law Offices of Stephen M Cohen

Stephen M. Cohen provides an extraordinarily varied professional background, which includes the honor of serving as a Palm Beach County Judge from 1993 through 1999 before choosing to re-enter private practice. When he re-entered private practice, he wanted a custom website to communicate with current and prospective clients.

Stephen had spent some time looking at other legal sites and knew that he didn’t want the standard “legalese” type website.  He wanted a unique site that conveyed his way of practicing law and his way of life.

We worked through a few trial layouts before finding the colors – light soft blue and a stronger, dark blue – to convey both strength and calm. A small site with a small content management system, but with a very clear, calm, yet strong presense.

BW Construction

Bill Wier recently opened his own construction company providing aggregate material, trucking, and bobcat work.  He wanted a small site that described his services and introduced him to prospective clients.

Using drop down menu items that include content, we created a one page design that provides users company information, pictures, and contact information.

This site will eventually expand into multiple pages, but having all the existing content on one page makes it easy for the user to find information.
